Who is NUHW
NUHW is Our Union
The National Union of Healthcare Workers is a union that was started by Kaiser co-workers ourselves, to stop SEIU from making deals behind our backs and get our union back under our control.
After SEIU officials took over our elected bargaining committees, 29,527 of our co-workers signed petitions to form NUHW.
NUHW's leaders are the same local staff and members who negotiated with Kaiser for more than twenty years and helped us win the best contract in the healthcare industry. Together, we won the best wages, benefits, and job security, because our union's only focus was to improve your jobs, and members got to vote on every important decision.
NUHW's constitution and bylaws guarantee that members will be in control of bargaining again.
2,300 of our Kaiser co-workers in Southern California—the Kaiser professionals and RNs—have already joined NUHW in landslide elections just like the one we're having now. In just one year, NUHW has become California’s fastest-growing union.
Our mail-ballot election for 43,500 service, clerical, maintenance and technical co-workers begins Sept. 13. This website is a place to get informed and share the facts with our co-workers.
